Acupuncture in Cottleville, MO
Fine-needle therapy that works with your nervous system to quiet pain and release stubborn muscle tension — folded into a real plan, not sold as a standalone cure.
Acupuncture is one of the recovery tools patients across St. Charles County book at The Spine Studio, on its own or alongside an adjustment. It's performed by an acupuncture-qualified chiropractor and used as part of your care — not offered as a mystical, standalone alternative. For the full science of how it works, our journal covers how clinical acupuncture actually works; this page is about what we treat with it and what a session costs.
What acupuncture helps with
It's most useful for musculoskeletal and tension-driven problems — the ones where tight, guarded muscle and an over-sensitized nervous system are part of the picture:
- Neck & back pain and muscle guarding. Often paired with an adjustment so the muscle lets go and the joint moves.
- Tension headaches from the neck. Needling the tight sub-occipital muscles at the base of the skull — see headaches that start in the neck.
- Nerve-irritation pain like sciatica. As one part of a plan — here's what actually drives sciatica.
- Jaw and TMJ-related tension. More on the jaw–neck connection.
Acupuncture isn't magic and it isn't nothing. Used on the right problem, it quiets an over-protective nervous system enough that the rest of the plan can work.
What a session looks like — and what it costs
A session is a flat $60 and runs about 20 minutes of localized needle retention — you can book it on its own or add it to a visit. The needles are hair-thin, most points are barely felt, and you rest quietly while they do their work. As a cash-based clinicthe price is posted up front, with no insurance visit caps deciding your care.
Acupuncture helps a lot of problems and does little for others. Part of the first visit is telling you plainly whether it's worth including in your plan — we'd rather skip it than sell you sessions that won't move the needle.
